Additionally, my experience is that the 6.5CM does feel like it has softer recoil than the other cartridges I compared in my selection process. I think it’s a fantastic cartridge and have been using it extensively for deer hunting over the past two seasons (and hunting exotics between the deer seasons). The truth is that does sound too good to be true so I started second guessing my calculations and figured it couldn’t hurt to revisit this topic in a bit more depth.įull disclosure, I am a 6.5mm Creedmoor (65CM) fan boy. To be honest, I hadn’t looked at it that way before. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but I received a comment on the 6.5mm Creedmoor selection post where a reader implied the recoil comparison numbers couldn’t be trusted because it was hard to believe that the 6.5mm Creedmoor has 50% more mass and less recoil.
